Universitas
Negeri Surabaya, in collaboration with Department of Education Management, are
excited to be hosting the International Youth Summit in Education (IYSE) 2022
entitled “Young Leader Collaboration In Accelerating The Distribution Of Global Education”
to be tentative held online from 27 to 29 July 2022. Be part of the forum, listen
and discuss with global participant and experts sharing their knowledge and
experience in education.
Education
remains an inaccessible right for millions of children around the world. More
than 72 million children of primary education age are not in school and 759
million adults are illiterate and do not have the awareness necessary to
improve both their living conditions and those of their children. Education should
be an effective vertical mobility ladder which means education must be obtained
by all levels of society. The fact shows that social inequality is quite high,
education must be able to narrow the gap. Knowledge and education are key
factors to the full and effective participation of youth in the processes of
social, economic and political development. Increased attention to improving participation
rates of young people, particularly marginalized youth, is needed to ensure
that they acquire the knowledge, capacities, skills and ethical values needed
to fulfill their role as agents of development, good governance, social
inclusion, tolerance and peace. Greater focus on universal access to education,
quality education, human rights education and learning, as well as increased
access to the complementary nature of vocational, formal, informal, and
non-formal educational practices in a non-discriminatory manner - particularly
for young women is key for young people to be able to address their aspirations
and challenges, fulfill their potential, and influence current and future
social and economic conditions and opportunities.
International
Youth Summit in Education (IYSE) 2022 invites youth representatives from
various countries in the world. In this forum, participants will take part in a
series of activities involving international speakers and discuss global
education issues. The results of this activity are recommendations that will be
offered to education policy holders so that education gives positive impacts
and improve the lives of young people globally.
